After a some time it became evident to me that this material may be decent enough to create a story. So here I am years later and I've published my first e-book! The story is somewhat timely as the plot has the characters from my RPG adventure fighting the clock to find an antidote for a planet wide pandemic. <p></p><p>It was a process to be sure to get this short story published via Amazon. I learned a ton and the next time doing this sort of project won't be so arduous as most of the ground work is now in place.</p><p>So please! Check out my book and drop just a couple of dollars on it and let me know in the comments what you think!<br /><br />"In a race against the clock - Nureet must transport a precious heirloom across a dangerous stretch of arid desert. Great Art Work and Great Capturing of Your Imagination<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I can't wait to play this game again! Super simple yet super engaging. We went through the rules in not time and got down to wondering the streets of what I can only describe as 'Old Hollywood'.<br />
<br />
The board game graphics and cards capture the essence of the 1940s era monster movie posters. The extra touch was the meticulous hand painted miniatures my friend did. It was nostalgic and drew me right into the game.<br />
<br />
The co-op aspect makes it more fun as your able to help each other gain items and ultimately attempt to slay these classic creatures of the night.<br />
<br />
<br />
Deceptively difficult. The game mechanics are a cinch<br />
<ul>
<li>move/acquire/etc based on your character's ability </li>
<li>when completed flip a monster card to invoke a possible attack </li>
<li>roll the dice to determine any possible damage </li>
</ul>
The difficulty is completing each monster's challenge card then seek it out to remove it from existence. This requires navigating the streets while evading the lurkers, sometimes having to move from one side of the board game to the other. However your team and villagers can only survive so many attacks before you become <a href="https://www.ravensburger.us/discover/horrified-game/index.html" target="_blank">HORRIFIED</a>! and the game comes to a sudden end. Nooooo!<br />
<br />
I found the extra tasks very fascinating. Villagers begin to wonder the town and you must escort them to their destination. Succeed and receive a bonus skill card. Fail and... well I won't describe the grizzly horrors that are inflicted if you do.<br />
<br />
This game is rated 10+. It's very cute and a really nice change from some of the darker board games I've played like <a href="https://www.plaidhatgames.com/games/dead-of-winter" target="_blank">Dead of Winter</a>. I liked this game so much I hope to have an opportunity for my kids to play it. 5 Stars!<br />
<br />
I made this teaser trailer for the game.<br />

I've been playing a lot of <a href="https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/164153/star-wars-imperial-assault">Star Wars Imperial Assault</a> lately with a group of friends every weekend. We usually block a few hours at my buddy's place to play. He has a dedicated games room with a superb boardgame table. Most of the games in his collection take up some real estate with not just the game but all the necessary card decks pieces etc. Imperial Assault has so many things going for it. It's so familiar but different enough to make it unique. Hey - it's STAR WARS after all!<br />
<br />
The skill level to play I would personally rate somewhere between novice to medium if you have prior RPG gaming experience. There's some dice mechanics but it's all laid out in your character's card details. You just need to glance at the card once in while to remind yourself of any special abilities that might help you or your companions.<br />
<br />
The artwork and game pieces are gorgeous. The owner of this particular set spent the summer individually painting each piece. Talk about leveling up! The characters are an assortment of types just like most other DnD/RPG games where detriments in one particular attribute are made up by others. The Wookie is big and strong, the infantry guy is great in battle, the commander has some extra mental and tactical prowess.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1omPDXgiSiU8az-hvRE5L74tGoYNZtg5VbTSiQudnh05nSWj7fWEKMm7Tptb7W4pGndI4CamfGE1vIWV9k60eDd948JZAewXChGQZsEVzNWm4JWxjTArVW3etQSq2Ap0sJD2TIjACXtzD/s1600/Untitled-5-1+%2528Small%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="480" data-original-width="720" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1omPDXgiSiU8az-hvRE5L74tGoYNZtg5VbTSiQudnh05nSWj7fWEKMm7Tptb7W4pGndI4CamfGE1vIWV9k60eDd948JZAewXChGQZsEVzNWm4JWxjTArVW3etQSq2Ap0sJD2TIjACXtzD/s320/Untitled-5-1+%2528Small%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Not all situations encountered are strictly blaster battles. One particular encounter had the team in a canyon and we all had to roll collectively to inflict as much damage to some sort of giant turbo cannon.<br />
<br />
The story element reminded me a lot of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic" target="_blank">KOTOR</a> where interactions with non-combatives would yield clues and side missions to gain more XP and gear which is all handled by the 'App'. Our host had it on his iPad mini which was screencasted to a small TV that we could all see. The app controls the game, the turns, the encounters and acts much like a GM. I found this particularly interesting and very inclusive as our host was able to play along side us instead of controlling the game.<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/RJyE27HvaTw" width="560"></iframe>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The board-game itself is also fascinating. It's actually grid puzzle pieces that are double sided with different environments that fit together in different ways dependent on what part of the adventure you are on.<br />
<br />
So there you have it, a great way to spend the winter months with friends in a familiar environment playing out a really cool story that is one part KOTOR and one part <a href="https://cardhu-rpg.blogspot.com/2014/04/of-huts-and-mines.html">SWEOTE</a> played on an ever changing board game map similar to <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pathfinder_Roleplaying_Game" target="_blank">Pathfinder</a>.At0m S0badhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01085575249313459655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3815607269147839922.post-5569128134800896862019-06-11T10:44:00.001-04:002019-07-03T10:48:24.840-04:00Merchants and Marauders<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This game hits me right in the feels! I love a good nautical adventure. Some of my favorite stories and movies have a core element invovling the high seas.<br />
<br />
Like any good choose your own adventure book, this game sets the mechanics in motion based on your intentions as a sea captain. Are you going to give it a go as a honest merchant, shipping your goods from port to port? Are you going to rain havok as a privateer sinking ships to Davey Jones' Locker? Once you initiate your first attack, there's no turning back.<br />
<br />
I've been reading "<a href="https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/40604556-red-seas-under-red-skies" target="_blank">Red Seas Under Red Skies</a>" and I wanted to play out its story in some capacity to this game. Sacking ships was my first order of business. I found out very quickly that it was very profitable - but also very risky. But with the risk came the reward and the excitment.<br />
<br />
Within a few turns I had already acquired muliple bounties on my head which made it next to impossible to go back to a life of merchant shipping for my stream of income. All the merchant ships fly country flags and once you attack a ship - you become an enemy of that country. This reduces the ports you can sail to as well as makes you a target of the game's naval ships that can search you out and chase you down.<br />
<br />
The events of the game are fascinating. I found the 'rumor' cards to be most interesting. These are side missions that can pay big dividends. Hurricanes and storms also took you off your course. Does your captain have a enough seamanship experience that you can roll your way out of a gale force wind? What two warring empires are at it now? Don't look now but there's also other pirates searching the seas for the gold stored in your hauls.<br />
<br />
I can't say enough good things about this boardgame. It really does a good job of combining elements of other games I've played such as <a href="https://www.catan.com/" target="_blank">Cataan</a>, DnD, Risk, <a href="https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/eldritch-horror/" target="_blank">Eldritch Horrors</a>, <a href="https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/34119/tales-arabian-nights" target="_blank">Arabian Nights</a> etc. all with a really great <a href="https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=Pirates+of+the+Caribbean:+The+Curse+of+the+Black+Pearl&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAONgFuLSz9U3MDLPMi4rUeIEsQ3LsosrtIR888syU4NTizJTi0PywZxFrGYBmUWJJanFCvlpCiUZqQrOiUWZSUmpiXlWCiEgbmlRcSpMziknMTlbISA1sSgHAEtwS8hmAAAA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiKgOTf1OHiAhUnrlkKHe7zD0cQxA0wL3oECBIQBA&biw=1506&bih=889" target="_blank">Pirates of the Carribean</a> theme!<br />

What
better place to play an intense and scary board game then miles away
from civilization? I helped my good friend KJ close up camp. Once the
work was done and we were full from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/maltesegrocery/" target="_blank">Maltese</a> burgers on the BBQ we hunkered down for an epic game of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/Eldritch-Horror-710910535599849/" target="_blank">ELDRITCH HORRORS</a>! MUHAAAHAAHAAA!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
When I say Epic - I mean EPIC. Setup for this beast is a 7/10 on the difficulty scale - at least for me. Not for the faint of heart and if you're trying to jam this game into a specific time schedule. You need to set aside an evening for this whopper. But it is absolutely worth the wait.<br />
<br />
HP Lovecraft inspired, Eldritch Horrors is similar to <a href="https://youtu.be/zDo2mWL3cus" target="_blank">Elder Signs</a> - however this takes place on a global scale. The actual board game is stunning and puts you into an Indiana Jones sort of feel with the time period it represents and the look of the map itself.<br />
<br />
There's a lot going on and it took me a few turns to get into the flow of it. This is a team game. You and your mates versus the horrors unleashed. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyYQa0iCKhBjeRY1_L_OMbg/videos" target="_blank">Glowing Turtle</a> does an excellent walk through of this intricate game.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/XxF3GqGHxlY/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XxF3GqGHxlY?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<br />
<br />
The objective is clear - defeat King Boss before to many portals open up and unleash unspeakable monsters and the DOOM CLOCK runs out.<br />
<br />
The time flies playing this game - so be sure to block a good chunk of it. Our adventure lasted over 2 hours. <br />

I found the BEST board game for children! I happen to be passing through a quaint little tourist town on the north shore of Lake Superior - <a href="https://www.visitcookcounty.com/community/grand-marais/" target="_blank">Grand Marais</a>. There's a great outdoors/hiking/camping store there called the <a href="http://www.lakesuperiortradingpost.com/" target="_blank">Trading Post</a> which stocks all manner of cottage clothing, fishing, hunting, books, maps and games!<br />
<br />
I asked the owner about this game "<a href="https://gamewright.com/product/Dragonwood" target="_blank">Dragonwood</a>" that I spotted in the games section. He had heard some pretty amazing reviews from his customers who had purchased it. Taking him at his word I purchased it for my kids.<br />
<br />
We were on a camping trip weeks later and broke out the game (still in the shrink wrap). My kids along with some of their cousins took to it like moths to a flame. It was the best $20.00 I spent towards children's entertainment and the kids as well as myself spent hours playing this gem of a game.<br />
<br />
Simply put - it's a form of UNO (finding cards of the same colour or a run of numbers or three of kind) and using that determine how many dice you roll to try and capture a creature from "Dragonwood". Each card captured has an assigned point(s) to it. The smaller point cards are easier to capture like the 'fire ants' or 'giggling goblins'. The more difficult cards like the 'pack of wolves' or 'angry bear' require a more die to conquer. <br />
<br />
The two ultimate beasts - the Dragons - are the most difficult to capture. Once the two dragons are caught the game is over and players then count their points (based on the creatures captured).<br />
<br />
Hours and hours of fun were had with this game. It is great if you aspire to have your kids get into more difficult games as it provides the foundation of dice mechanics. 10 out 10!At0m S0badhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01085575249313459655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3815607269147839922.post-54529711668177042482018-02-01T17:38:00.001-05:002018-02-01T17:38:30.297-05:00Trying a Different Flavor of RPG<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

What does one do to combat the winter blues? Embrace it of course! What better way than to hunker down at a freind's camp, stoke the flames in the fireplace and burn through hours of adventure in the blink of an eye around a table playing DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS!<br />
<br />
Days previous I got to build out a character and have it prepared for the adventure. I went with a Half-Elf Druid and leveled up on medicinal forest skills. My colleague went with a Ranger class Human and also leveled up in nature based skills. Lucky for us our quest took us on a wooded terrain path into the mountains. Our insight was favorable indeed!<br />
<br />
This was our GM's first crack at being a GM. I wouldn't have guessed it was his first attempt. For this round he used his newly aquired D&D 5th Edition. Adapting to this version based on my previous EotE adventures was almost seemless. Apparently the new 5th edition is less on dice-math and lends itself more to the game play. <br />
<br />
He guided our characters SavaVor and Warmspring to a haunted canyon by way of a quirky village. We heard some tales of orcs and treasure from the locals before heading on our way. <br />
<br />
Our original journey was to take us to the lands far beyond for some contract work with some Dwarves. However that would have to wait as we were diverted by strange and unusual forces to visit the canyon on the outskirts of the town.<br />
<br />
A thick fog hid the bottom of the crevase. The only sign of activty was a rope tied off to a post that ran down the rock wall into the abyss. Being experienced woodsmen, we tied off secondary climbing gear for safety and scaled down the escarment which ended at the top of a platform. Stairs carved into the rocks led further down still.<br />
<br />
Warmsrping and I discover the top of an ancient castle sticking out of the canyon floor. It appears to have been burried then swallowed up by the earth. There's activty a foot as latterns are lit and a path in out of the top of the building has been worn. Could this be where the treasures are coming from?<br />
<br />
To be continued...<br />

I've been fortuante to know some who have taken their first steps into building their own board games. <br />
<br />
<a href="https://www.thegamecrafter.com/games/intestinal-fortitude" target="_blank">Intestinal Fortitude</a> and <a href="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1612143194/summit-the-board-game-mountaineering-mayhem-and-ki" target="_blank">Summit</a>.<br />
<br />
I've also has the pleasure of participating in a number of new games including, <a href="https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/209418/dominion-second-edition" target="_blank">Dominion</a>, <a href="https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/71061/dungeonquest-third-edition" target="_blank">Dungeon Quest</a> and <a href="https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/elder-sign/" target="_blank">Elder Signs</a>.<br />
<br />
Dominon and Dungeon Quest I've talked about before<a href="https://cardhu-rpg.blogspot.ca/2016/11/change-up.html" target="_blank"> -here-</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi58fuH_p9L5RGtdXfimjXiESwvzkI_UFlUt1kusoYCyVov2SFjRaeHOWih_R46RB6sCKrGMewmAr29kO-0GThrfxKL9pI_JE_-pivDOmRPm0tyweGJ-Y4NhVpKkI46k61IkbeH-lu0GlZJ/s1600/Elder+Signs.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="706" data-original-width="1042" height="216" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi58fuH_p9L5RGtdXfimjXiESwvzkI_UFlUt1kusoYCyVov2SFjRaeHOWih_R46RB6sCKrGMewmAr29kO-0GThrfxKL9pI_JE_-pivDOmRPm0tyweGJ-Y4NhVpKkI46k61IkbeH-lu0GlZJ/s320/Elder+Signs.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
What I'd like to talk about is <a href="https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/elder-sign/" target="_blank">Elder Sign</a>.<br />
What a great game! The cards and pieces are individual works of art. I spent a lot of the game in awe of all the components. <br />
<br />
Don't let the amount of card types and dice intimidate you. This game is actually pretty easy to learn. It's mechanics allow you to really dive into this adventure and really enjoy it. The <a href="https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/index/" target="_blank">Fantasy Flight</a> folks made this very intuitive.<br />
<br />
My first round at <a href="https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/elder-sign/" target="_blank">Elder Sign</a> was just over three hours. Some of that was getting up to speed learning, but it truly flew by. There was never a lull as participants can easily talk over the game - unlike some other games where you need to really focus on what you're doing. Playing as a team really helped as we were able to discuss some strategy on what to tackle. At0m S0badhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01085575249313459655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3815607269147839922.post-56463188531838846682016-11-22T12:27:00.001-05:002016-11-22T12:37:46.928-05:00Change UpWell just a quick update as it's been a while. Haven't organized to play Star Wars in quite some time but I've been playing some other cool board games. Three to be exact and one is Star Wars related.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHzQtrIIyHRwB-lWHdxd4tox3Hdm-5NONs53GW6s7RRafeh2k8ppxOeyLszdFOn5M4vR-Y167NBsehdvOF6z-WxohrQPdNjXqCClfn40feRVHBJa7iXn6LdSe-P39e7Tgo6_oKwsI9DruF/s1600/dungeon+quest.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="73" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHzQtrIIyHRwB-lWHdxd4tox3Hdm-5NONs53GW6s7RRafeh2k8ppxOeyLszdFOn5M4vR-Y167NBsehdvOF6z-WxohrQPdNjXqCClfn40feRVHBJa7iXn6LdSe-P39e7Tgo6_oKwsI9DruF/s200/dungeon+quest.jpg" width="200" /></a>First up is Dungeon Quest. This game is low in difficulty and the fun factor is through the roof. You really don't have a chance in this adventure. If the chasms don't swallow you or the un-dead don't kill you the sun timer will close you in. Game times aren't long so you can probably get two or three rounds in a few hours once you get the gist of the dice and game flow.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOxEcAslzFNFDAahPxs4Ba9GOJXun_ZzNruwnDQyOZTxtUSHpsNwmvRQguiVnblOEXPnGeX0YP5fkH4nCZqeDhr5Q6J7yyvhmpvGu7FZVpyGQVuquExJe2VV0SpTyvgztP2_hUj_UdVRAS/s1600/codenames.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="198" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOxEcAslzFNFDAahPxs4Ba9GOJXun_ZzNruwnDQyOZTxtUSHpsNwmvRQguiVnblOEXPnGeX0YP5fkH4nCZqeDhr5Q6J7yyvhmpvGu7FZVpyGQVuquExJe2VV0SpTyvgztP2_hUj_UdVRAS/s200/codenames.JPG" width="200" /></a>Another fun game I was introduced to is Code Names. Best described as a combination of Guess Who and $10000 Pyramid. Three people works really well for this game. One clue giver and to opposing 'spies'. The clue giver has to associate words together for the spy to connect. Watch out for the Assassin! Game flow is really fast and you can knock out a few rounds quickly.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6VgRVUuxrpii9xWVpGz7xUtvGa4CXTVg43BCe19hyphenhyphenPFA5i7bPPvyQUfza0saibdhe_Rwc2tlbJIuBS5EEvxpm1TqEkaYW_Iw09POy164Ku-WewdMogjP1gkFxQTfs8MRWRy-yMKlrbzPQ/s1600/starwarsxwing.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="136" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6VgRVUuxrpii9xWVpGz7xUtvGa4CXTVg43BCe19hyphenhyphenPFA5i7bPPvyQUfza0saibdhe_Rwc2tlbJIuBS5EEvxpm1TqEkaYW_Iw09POy164Ku-WewdMogjP1gkFxQTfs8MRWRy-yMKlrbzPQ/s200/starwarsxwing.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
Last but not least is Star Wars X-Wing. Clear off your kitchen table, throw down the star field felt cloth and buckle up. This is a turn based RTS dog fighting game with all your favorite Star Wars ships - Millenium Falcon, Slave 1, Tie-Advanced, X-Wing Fighters and more. It will take a few rounds to get the dice mechanics, but after that it's clear sailing. The models are amazing and you will love strategizing your ship's next maneuver and attack.<br />
<br />

We continue off from our last RPG session where the group is still on Cloud City where upon walking the promenade a squid like figure is being chased by Storm Troopers. Barreling though the crowd he collides with Cardhu. As they both tumble to the ground, the 'Squid' manages to slip a data card into Cardhu's pocket before the Storm Troopers apprehend him. Being hauled off he yells out 'Viva the Revolution!"<br />
<br />
The group now realize they too are under suspicion and escape the scene. They split up as they evade blaster fire. <br />
<br />
Grpyh now on her own has an encounter with an old friend from the Art Dealer World and the possibility of payment of 5000 credits owed her. She learns that her husband has been arrested and sent to the Ryloth mines for her Art Fraud Scheme. For his freedom Gryph must repossess one the paintings she sold off as her own and return to its rightful owners. The catch – she has to bid on it in the upcoming auction with the 5000 credits.<br />
<br />
Jorbis and Cardhu meet up with Gryph at the auction and help distract prospective bidders. All is going smoothly until Grpyph is recognized as an impostor upon accepting the “Boy With Apple” painting. A commotion erupts and our desperate group makes a break for it shooting out the lights and escape the large chamber with the precious painting in their possession.<br />
<br />
The group make their way through the lower levels of Cloud City to their ship. They notice a cloaked figure inspecting the outside of the haul. He turns in the direction of the group – his red eyes glaring through his steel mask and shouts “Jorbis Kane! – you are the bug squat on the back end of a Bantha! You are also to be – removed!”<br />
<br />
For a split second Jorbis is beside himself – it is was phrase his deceased wife used to say to him. Shock quickly is replaced by rage - Jorbis whips out his blaster and starts firing upon the masked man. The cloaked figure makes a daring escape leaping off the landing platform onto his awaiting speeder.<br />
<br />
Realizing they must escape themselves, the group run for the ship’s entrance hatch only to trip a booby trap – a rigged thermal detonator. Split second reactions save the group and they blast off away from Cloud City.At0m S0badhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01085575249313459655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3815607269147839922.post-9164685647564913792015-05-07T19:23:00.000-04:002015-05-07T19:32:24.049-04:00Trail Runs Cold<div dir="ltr">

It was too long, but we finally got the gang together for another RPG session. Recapping the last episode was easy - this blog. For those of you just tuning in - we ended a pretty epic two part mission involving the rescue of a bionic woman named Cratala. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
We were rewarded with payment of a promise of information pertaining to Dr. Jorbis Kane's murder mystery. But before we could obtain the data - we were pursued by yet another Star Destroyer and its Tie-Fighters. A lot of die rolling and some ACE galactic warfare, we managed to escape and claim the doctor's precious prize.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
Cloud City bound - we were on the trail of a possible killer. His name - Skarr. The long voyage allowed us to heal our wounds and devise a game plan. Upon arrival - we were directed to a lower landing bay dock. This made getting up to the apartment levels very difficult and very expensive. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
The group decided to break into Skarr's pad after their attempts to contact him fell on deaf ears. Griff kept look out as the Doctor and Cardhu investigated. A grizzly discovery - Skarr's lifeless body lie in a pool of blood in a all too familiar scene. The Doctor revealed his wife's body was found in a similar fashion - results of her murder investigation confirmed an execution.<br />
<br />
Outside the apartment, Cloud City Guards along with Stormtroopers detained Griff who wasn't able to talk her way out of a bad situation. To keep her allies safe - she reluctantly was led to the detention center. Some timely rolls of the die got her out of trouble - but just barely.<br />
<br />
This bought the others time to rummage through the apartment for clues. The only hard find was Skarr's datapad. Decrypting it and learning its secrets revealed that Skarr briefly knew the Doctor's father-in-law. Information about a rare and life threatening disease which the Doctor's wife contracted as well as vague coordinates to the planet Mrlsst were also learned. Mrlsst according to Skarr's accounts - was visited frequently by the father.<br />

Our little group got together finally after what seemed like an eternity. After some nice social banter to catch up with real world lives, we got down to business – Part II of “THE WHEEL”.<br />
<br />
This being our 3rd session with new comer Griff the mechanics of the game seemed almost second nature. This really sped up the game and really made the story line flow.<br />
<br />
Here’s what happened.<br />
<br />
The trio’s main mission was to fly to a jungle planet to try and find a crashed ship of deserters. On board was to be some cybernetic research for the group to acquire and bring back to the station to be sold on the black market. Anything else was for the taking.<br />
<br />
However when the team landed – all that was found was the remains of a crashed ship. A metal skeletal carcass – picked clean of any useful entrails.<br />
<br />
The group had a droid in tow who was to help with the mission. The droid turned out to be the property of Captain Harsel. The pilot of the crashed ship. Captain Harsel was now the leader of the remaining survivors. <br />
<br />
The entire story then just took off as the Captain and the Droid re-unite. The group is brought to a fortified village and meet the other survivors including Crutella – a humanoid with cyborg implants. <br />
<br />
The captain is afraid to leave the planet in fear he be discovered by the Imperial. Crutella wants off. Since there was some disagreement on which of the 2 the group should focus their efforts – they decide to split and take on both in separate side plots. Griiff attempted to ally Crutella while the Dr and Cardhu tried to hard line Captain Harsel.<br />
<br />
THE BLIND SIDE<br />
<br />
This is when it got crazy. Griff’s wrist band (a disguised communicator) goes off and it’s Kal. Kal was the security officer on board ‘The Wheel’ who helped the trio recover the IT-3PO droid before embarking to the planet.<br />
<br />
HE WORKS FOR THE IMPERIAL!!!! Kal had sweet talked Griif and gave her a bracelet which was a homing beacon and communicator. It was a trap to help the Imperial track down the deserter ship. The group unknowingly betrayed the deserters by leading the Imperial right to their doorstep!<br />
<br />
Stay and Fight or escape?<br />
There was room for 2 extra passengers on board the shuttle. The group urges Captain Harsel and Crutella to join them. Crutella flees with the group as the Captain stays to fight off the Imperial landing party.<br />
<br />
Among-st a hail of blaster fire the group escaped back to the shuttle and avoid capture and ‘fair trial’ of the Imperial variety.<br />
<br />
They make their way to rendezvous with Rone to hand over the cybernetic research – which happens to be Crutella. When the two lay eyes on each other they ran into each other’s arms. <br />
<br />
The End.<br />
<br />
The group couldn't stop talking about the blind side and all thoroughly enjoyed the twist the GM had incorporated into the story line. It was like when Luke finds out Vader is his father! No one saw the Kal angel coming.<br />
<br />
This entry wouldn't be complete without a huge shout out to our GM. It was a well thought out and very enjoyable adventure to experience!<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Wheel - starwars.wikia.com</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
We kicked off part 1 of a 2 part adventure. In a somewhat elaborate back story alignment of Cardhu's character and current events- a familiar Imperial foe captured our ship in an ambush and seized all our possessions. We were allowed to go on our way, but all we'd work for was now gone. <br />
<br />
Our new heading was the Wheel - a giant space station where we'd meet up with a Cardhu's friends who'd given her an opportunity to pay off a favor. The favor - find a legend ship and appropriate some advanced technology. Any other goodies would be there for the taking.<br />
<br />
The Wheel also provided for a chance meeting of an old 'friend' of Griff's. A security officer on the station who'd aid the group in re-capturing a droid needed for the mission. Two Rodians made off with it and almost escaped the station had Griff's friend not intervened to seal off the landing bay. Griff's quick thinking and use of a disguise kit fooled them into leaving the droid behind and fleeing the station.<br />
<br />
From a player perspective I felt the group really started coming together. Two of us are still relatively new to the entire RPG genre while the third and the GM are both vets of the game. Griff's take on the game I imagine is helping take the adventures in completely uncharted directions. Who thinks of purchasing a disguise kit and using it to take down two Rodians? The same two that almost brought my character Cardhu to an end with a direct blaster shot to the chest in a high speed chase fire fight?<br />
<br />
It's the first time I felt afraid for my first ever RPG character. Almost having your character killed was a very strange feeling. This person I created about 6 months ago was now lying on the ground in need of serious help. Yoda's proclamation of "RECKLESS" came to mind. I shall be more careful in part 2 of this adventure. Even if the die are in my hand are loaded - it doesn't mean it's a sure thing.<br />

I'm not sure how I feel now that running for the most part has subsided - there seems to be a void now. <br />
<br />
I hope the other clan members made it off Ryloth. However I doubt it. I'm certain the Regents cou ensured they're all dead. Ever since father made it clear that it was in Ryloth's chance to be free of the Republic and join the separatists I've never felt safe. <br />
<br />
Republic or separatist. It was easy - everything was black and white. Now out here on my own on the 'edge' - everything seems a shade of grey. I'm now just one person trying to survive. I guess I can justify some of the things i've done in the name of self preservation.At0m S0badhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01085575249313459655noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3815607269147839922.post-2212514822081517082014-04-20T11:49:00.001-04:002014-07-16T13:58:31.381-04:00A Means to an End<div dir="ltr">
"That was too easy." Gryph thought as she got dressed. She kicked the empty bottles of firewater out of the doorway and made her way down to the galley. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
Before embarking on this mission she knew she had to find a way to get on the inside track, she had to get the others to trust her, so she used her "abilities" to form a bond with Cardhu (she knew the good doctor was still hung up on his dead wife and was therefore a lost cause).</div>
<div dir="ltr">
Now she should be easily able to convince Cardhu at least to give her a cut of any credits they accumulated for now on. That would mean Gryph would be well on her way to a new life and if that meant screwing a couple of street rats over than so be it.</div>

<br />
According to a journal entry left open by Dr. Jorbis Kane - it appears he's taken full advantage. The Pykes were willing to help him out and he uncover some more clues surrounding the circumstances of his wife's murder. <br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYler-0u3AFsDkRG3PiZoLm5_lJP2G692AM-srPlsbtQ7gbcXE81M9kODqOPRgMV7zXU4KaGIyHiFB__osZCLhX93lRDssVuQ0CJkO2WriVyfUH44aY-c4AAFzAA3axYO9csICsTC0tVg-/s1600/stardestroyer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYler-0u3AFsDkRG3PiZoLm5_lJP2G692AM-srPlsbtQ7gbcXE81M9kODqOPRgMV7zXU4KaGIyHiFB__osZCLhX93lRDssVuQ0CJkO2WriVyfUH44aY-c4AAFzAA3axYO9csICsTC0tVg-/s1600/stardestroyer.jpg" height="216" width="320" /></a>So an ominous and enormous space ship crawled across the sky - cutting short any further recreation activities. So large it seemed unreal. An Imperial Star Destroyer. It spit out tiny little bugs from its hangar bays. The bugs would eventually be realized to be Tie-Fighter Bombers. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
There was a quick message from Admiral Crawley informing the inhabitants that we would be bombed into oblivion if a certain bounty hunter was not not released to them.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This situation according to Cardhu clearly did not involve them with bounty hunter anymore. The two packed their crates and rendezvous en route with YT. Half their money lost and quick introduction to Gryph Jones and the trio blasted out of the system evading Tie-Fighters.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So what kind of trouble did they get into now? Well it involves a missing Star Destroyer and a reward for its rescue. 20000 credits! Since Gryph was new to the gang - the doctor and Cardhu after much deliberation decide that Gryph will have to earn her cut. <br />
<br />
What's a girl to do? Out of money and out of options. Gryph to her credit does negotiate a performance bonus if she's deemed valuable to the mission at hand. This did however set the tone for the adventure - Jorbis' opinion of the lady folk surfaced and made for some really awesome interaction between characters. <br />
<br />
What a scoundrel! <br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

I shouldn't have read this but... here it is:<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
--------------Begin Log------------------</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">“The killers will be found. I’ll see to that myself” Jorbis says aloud to no one but himself. He’s been sitting all night. Staring out into the darkness searching for answers. Asking, but receiving no reply. Those who could help are few and far between. Days have blended into months while his task remains firmly rooted in his mind. He must find these people. He must bring them to justice. Justice? Is that even possible at this point? <u></u><u></u></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 13px;"></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">His mission to find his wife’s killer has been going slowly. Slow, until now.<u></u><u></u></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 13px;"></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US"> Jorbis reached out to the Pyke crime syndicate to find answers. A bold move but one that paid off in the end. The answer was not at all what he expected it would be. The Pyke’s sources confirm with absolute certainty that the murder was not an accident. It was retribution for something that Medlun’s father had done. He had crossed the wrong people and Medlun paid the price.<u></u><u></u></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 13px;"></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">The information hit Jorbis hard. He wasn’t prepared for any of it. Almost sick to his stomach, he returned to his hotel room in a daze. How could this happen? What did her father do? What is he involved in? The time to grieve is long past. The time for action is dawning.<u></u><u></u></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 13px;"></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">The night has been spent partly in anguish and partly in sorrow. Not sorrow for what has happened. No, this sorrow is for what he must do. The game has changed. The stakes have increased and the cards are dealt. How they are played it another matter. The plan that Jorbis has formulated is solid. At least it seems that way to him.<u></u><u></u></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 13px;"></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">“I only have one choice” he mumbles. Time is slipping away quickly. With every step he gets closer, they get further away. Jorbis begins to pack up for the day. As he sorts through his gear he gains confidence. Firmly grasping the light blaster pistol he knows he is on the right track. He will find the killers…even if it takes her last breath. First however, he needs to prepare.<u></u><u></u></span></div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 13px;"></span><br style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;" />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">Leaving his room he glances at the door across the hallway. “Hmph” he grumbles. “That Twi’lek will sleep with anything”. He could see the relationship growing on their last mission together. Cardhu and Gryff were drawing closer all the time. He thought better than to disturb them. They need their sleep. No doubt they were up all night too….</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US">-------------End Log----------------------------------</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">
<span lang="EN-US"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;">

Let's go back one more step and establish two important points:<br />
<ol>
<li>We had another NEW TO RPG player</li>
<li>The player was a girl</li>
</ol>
<div>
Crazy! This is apparently a milestone for my friends - its the first time a girl has embarked on an adventure. It made for a really cool game having another very unique perspective.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So Gryph's connection to the Doctor and Cardhu is this - she's a painter/scholar that couldn't establish her own artwork. She came across a cache of rare paintings and sold them off as her own. Gryph eventually was found out and ran to the Edges of the Empire. Cardhu had contacted Grpyh about acquiring the remaining pieces of artwork to 'help' sell them to collectors beyond the core worlds. For a handling fee of course. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

We are tasked with finding the identity of a bounty hunter that crossed a rival gang. Just as we uncover the name we are discovered and half to make a break for it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGyT6XLFYKVNUtvgL2qdKt9tSwkSGS9m9CBPukKx_tKQ0abFEyWIHU8Id9RpPqoTkynLambD8uv424R1sK0bliBRyADmtLwVQNOSUPnR70A2UEHJmw_w3VOyP8-mXmk9XuG4z4HjRMM86q/s1600/Trandoshan.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGyT6XLFYKVNUtvgL2qdKt9tSwkSGS9m9CBPukKx_tKQ0abFEyWIHU8Id9RpPqoTkynLambD8uv424R1sK0bliBRyADmtLwVQNOSUPnR70A2UEHJmw_w3VOyP8-mXmk9XuG4z4HjRMM86q/s1600/Trandoshan.PNG" height="320" width="283" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Our escape involves a speeder chase through crowded frantic air-traffic, the destruction of our ride along with some unsuspecting droid cops and the car jacking of a police vehicle. We later pawn it off at a chop shop. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
We are now sent out to track down the Trandoshan. Finding him is no easy task. It involves a shoot out in a dive bar and the extraction of information from a now footless gangster. It's a dark but bloody humorous scene as the Doctor and I make him talk by stomping on the maimed bad guy's ankle stump.<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
Eventually arriving at the bounty hunter's hideout (an industrial processing plant of sorts) the Doctor and I split up. He attempts to infiltrate the complex through a series of vents and pipes where as I take the more direct approach by sweet talking the security camera in the main entrance.<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4eGPz4R63cnWjGk6NQY3BNBLV3DIdveP5et4hit2s7KYFFnCOxeePLMaikBXwhy9Pl12LC_wiQIPkllVysuRntFgBTHJBg6qZ_hdGN01X8rHbgGzJBTZclS6jlh5LwdVRy6ol1GNfnazs/s1600/curoscant.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4eGPz4R63cnWjGk6NQY3BNBLV3DIdveP5et4hit2s7KYFFnCOxeePLMaikBXwhy9Pl12LC_wiQIPkllVysuRntFgBTHJBg6qZ_hdGN01X8rHbgGzJBTZclS6jlh5LwdVRy6ol1GNfnazs/s1600/curoscant.jpg" height="177" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
My appearance seems to meet with the bounty hunter's approval and he allows me in. I'm alone with the bad ass and I know it's a hopeless cause to attempt some sort of melee. With Kane no where to be seen and time running out - I attempt to coerce the Trandoshan to surrender. It's a ballsy move and dependent solely on my dice skills. If I fail - he'll have seen through my deception and I'm pretty much toast.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I've got some extra dice in play due to some proficiency in bullshitting. I hold my breath - and roll. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Success! He surrenders! Not a single shot fired! I train my pistol on him until the Jorbis can bind him. We take him into custody. The Trandoshan is beside himself that he's been duped. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
More shocked is the Pyke Family we turn him in to. We are revered and handsomely paid. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The GM I think was most shocked - as this was definitely a bizarre and brazen bit of role playing. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
</div>

My first mission and first experience playing RPG. I meet Jorbis Kane - a human doctor operating on the fringes of the Empire. Professes to be innocent and on the run from the law. When not scraping together work he spends his free time tracking down the identities of those who murdered his wife. His mission - bring forth justice.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8kHUnY2oT33j-5aNNRICYqC7gwY0DB6lkNMVp9cCOHuaqReLS5A4meKnkppy9eiQwd_kVlm0Vc0Rd0-E-mIRL6pTO5TnbaCwAUsW7mRtACN3H13smLXn4Ez6hIgUd4K-a1twE_bu-Yeco/s1600/64f56027748321dd1d9c9caf1159c982.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8kHUnY2oT33j-5aNNRICYqC7gwY0DB6lkNMVp9cCOHuaqReLS5A4meKnkppy9eiQwd_kVlm0Vc0Rd0-E-mIRL6pTO5TnbaCwAUsW7mRtACN3H13smLXn4Ez6hIgUd4K-a1twE_bu-Yeco/s1600/64f56027748321dd1d9c9caf1159c982.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
Our connection is established - we owe one of the Hutt's and until our debt is paid - we work for him. He is sending us to a nearby planet to get the low down on a mine he's purchased. Bargos wants to know what condition it's in and to collect the first of many lucrative kickbacks. </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
When we arrive it appears to be dormant - not good. It's been shot up - by who we don't know. We battle a deranged R2 unit which almost does us both in - our die rolling abilities tonight suck. Kane and I uncover a Droid Revolution conspiracy and have to take out a land ship that is attempting to destroy the mine.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
We fail miserably. The mine is destroyed and we are left tucking our tails between our legs as we head back to Bargos. Thankfully due to some lucky safe-cracking we are able to at least bring back some insurance papers that protected Bargo's financial interests in the mine - it's a write off but he's pleased it's not a complete loss. He pays us some coin for our efforts and reduces our 'debt' to him.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

We didn't tell him we also found a Talisman in our quest. That we keep to ourselves.</div>

That's all it took and a few nights later I was sipping a nice glass of scotch and filling out my first ever character sheet. </div>
<div dir="ltr">

<div dir="ltr">
Cardhu - the name of my fine scotch became the name of my blue skinned female Twi'lek character. A fringe trader. Female you ask?? </div>

I figured I really go for it. Really force myself to be creative. At first I was going to go the angle of maybe Gordon Freedman of Halflife, or maybe a sharp shooter from Counterstrike - something along the military characteristics with guns and other weaponry if I was to take on the Empire. But that seemed like the easy thing to do for me - so I bucked my personal conventions and went with everything I could think of that was opposite of what I'd normally do.</div>

Confident and smart of the persuasive personality that might be able to accomplish more with intellect instead of blaster fire. I figured the others I'd be joining would be gunnery types so adding a 'face' to the mix might shake up the game play. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I leveled up my character with as much cunning and intellect as possible - I even took on more obligation to raise my stats. I grabbed a light range blaster and a frag grenade for good measure. </div>

The news of my joining this 'Fight Club' spread quickly and was met with excitement. I wish I could of saw their faces when the 'he created a girl character' was announced. I learned later it was met with some shock - no one apparently considered creating a female character. </div>

<div dir="ltr">
A few years back when I binged watched the IT Crowd, there was an episode in the fourth and final season when the topic of Role Playing Games was broached. Pure hilarity ensued as Moss the GM lead 3 'Suits' on a wondrous journey of the mind in <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyuFLxQZf78&list=UUHfMU1aheLwursYZHtf6uhw">"Jen The Frodo"</a>.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I had always had a secret fascination of the D and D world and this episode of IT Crowd drew it closer to the surface.</div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
I work in IT but I don't see myself as the stereotypical geek. I do enjoy general geek things like Star Wars, Trek, Firefly and other tv/movie sci-fi. But I don't brand myself as having a commanding knowledge as those I see in the comic con realms. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr">
RPG is something I didn't think I had the geek smarts and credibility to attempt. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
That is until I showed a friend the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyuFLxQZf78&list=UUHfMU1aheLwursYZHtf6uhw">Jen The Frodo</a> episode. This is when it was let known to me that my friend was a big RPG enthusiasts since childhood. It was just something he didn't ever bring up because of the stigma attached. I found out as well that other friends were part of this secret society. </div>
<div dir="ltr">
I wanted in.</div>
